荆艺兵广州个展「变卦」CHANGES 在广州墨阁画廊空间呈现。

BEING's solo exhibition "Changes" is presented at Moge Gallery in Guangzhou.

过去的三年，世界、环境和生活发生了变化。我们既是历史的见证人，也是历史的亲历者。作为一家当代艺术画廊，我们深感有责任、有一种迫切感和强烈的愿望，对当下所发生的变化，进行思索和对话。墨阁画廊一直在探寻一种呈现和表达，来回应这个世界和这个时代。秉持独立的艺术理念、关注当下及不懈探索的精神，是墨阁画廊创办的初衷和坚定的追求。

In the past three years, the world, the environment and life have changed. We are both witnesses and witnesses of history. As a contemporary art gallery, we feel a sense of responsibility, a strong urge and desire to reflect the changes taking place today. Moge Gallery is always looking for a presentation and expression that responds to the world and The Times. It is the original intention and firm pursuit of Moge Gallery to uphold the independent artistic concept, focus on the present and the spirit of unremitting exploration.

恰巧就在这个时间上，我们偶然与荆艺兵先生有个短暂的交集，我们发现双方有着共同的方向和理念，故邀请荆艺兵先生，在广州墨阁画廊空间，办一场有意义的、有厚度、有当代性的展览。应邀请，艺术家荆艺兵先生就墨阁画廊所处的展厅空间和广州的地缘，并结合当下，创作出本次独一无二的展览。

It happened that at this time, we had a brief encounter with BEING, and we found that we shared the same pursuit, so we invited BEING to hold a meaningful, philosophic and contemporary exhibition in Moge Gallery space of Guangzhou. At the invitation of Moge Gallery, artist BEING created this unique exhibition based on the exhibition space of Moge Gallery and the geographical location of Guangzhou.

它不仅是一场展览，也是一件作品。

卦爻互变而成新卦。

The hexagrams and lines are transformed into new hexagrams.

取名“变卦”，也因疫情经历了多次变化：病毒自身在发生变化，而国家、社会、个体都在发生变化。就广州而言，前一段时间在管控，后来忽然解封，政策发生了截然不同的变化。在这个变化的过程中，我们有什么经历？忽然的变化，改变了以往的格局，我们如何重新确定自己的方向？我们个体在这过程中是怎样的一种存在？

The name "change" also goes through many changes because of the epidemic: the virus itself is changing, the country, the society and the individual are changing. As far as Guangzhou is concerned, it was lockdown for a period of time and then suddenly unsealed, and the policy had changed completely. What experience do we have in this process of change? The sudden changes have changed the pattern of the past, how do we re-determine our own direction? What is our individual presence in this process?

我们想通过这次展览，对过去三年做一个总结，对当下和未来做一次对话。

Through this exhibition, we want to make a summary of the past three years and a dialogue about the present and the future.

本期展览的布置，由艺术家荆艺兵在杭州远程沟通，并交由墨阁画廊在广州本地执行。根据艺术家的建议，我们通过淘宝网络商城，购买了广州本地的草皮、A4白纸，铺设在画廊地面。

The layout of this exhibition is commuicated by BEING in Hangzhou and executed locally by Moge Gallery in Guangzhou. According to the artist's suggestions, we purchased local turf and A4 white paper from Guangzhou through Taobao online store and laid them on the gallery floor.

草地与白纸的并置，是绿码的变奏，也是个体生命与共同命运的对话。

The juxtaposition of grass and white paper is a variation of green code and a dialogue between individual life and united destiny.

绿地、绿码、草地、草根、草民；白纸、留白、医院、大白……可能是我们这个时代最独特也是最深刻的共同记忆。

Green land, green code, grassland, grass roots, grass people; White paper, blanks, hospitals, medical workers... Perhaps the particular and most profound shared memory of our time.

我们将地面的图片，通过幻化成马赛克，仿佛像是曾经每个人所紧抱的“绿码”。

We took the picture of the ground and turned it into a Mosaic, like the "Green Code" that everyone once held tightly.

本期展览由艺术家荆艺兵 + 墨阁画廊，在广州本土执行和发生的一次当代艺术实验：用现成的材料，在一个封闭的画廊空间中，面对一个开放的问题，进行的一次当下的对话。

In this exhibition, artist BEING and Moge Gallery are engaged in a contemporary art experiment in Guangzhou: the current dialogue with ready-made in a enclosed gallery space, in the face of an open question.

本期展览同时呈现艺术家珍贵的多幅创作手稿和装置，供参观者了解艺术家创作思想。此外，本期展览将不设引导和导览，由观者自己亲身参与，与墨阁空间和当下的广州，进行开放的自我对话。

At the same time, this exhibition presents many precious manuscripts and installations of the artist, so that visitors can understand the creative thoughts of the artist. In addition, there will be no guide or tour in this exhibition. Visitors will participate in the exhibition themselves and have an open self-dialogue with Moge Space and the current Guangzhou.

对墨阁画廊而言，本次展览是一次全新的且颇具勇气的尝试：反策展、非现场创作、当下性、运用现成物、观众的介入才是作品的真正开始。

For Moge Gallery, this exhibition is a new and courageous attempt: counter-curation, off-site creation, current nature, use of ready-made, audience intervention is the real beginning of the work.

布展过程的一些感受（主理人 Ted）：

Some feelings in the process of arranging the exhibition (by Gallery Owner Ted) :

布展是一个体力活，原本是可以交给工人们去完成。然而，不知为何，我有一种强烈的直觉，认为这个过程很重要，必须要由我亲自参与。尽管过程中累得直不起身来，但我获得了意想不到的体验和感悟。

Exhibition arrangement is a manual labor, which can be handed over to workers. Somehow, however, I had a strong intuition that this process was important and that I must do it myself. Even though I was so tired that I could hardly stand up, I've gained unexpected experiences and insights.

展览地面本次采用的是真草。一捆草皮，用红绳子系着。每一捆，绑着6-7块。我从货车上搬运下来，双手分别提一捆走在路上，忽然感受到一种悲伤泪流：仿佛我手上提的，不是草，而是一个个家庭和个体，它们的命运似乎被我提捏着，我能很清楚地感受到它们生命的脆弱；而它们又无法决定自己的去向，是如此的无助，仿佛我们每个人在这尘世间随风飘荡。而每根草用它顽强的方式，在用力地活着，像极了每个正在活着的人。

We used real grass to cover the floor. A bundle of grass, tied with red rope. Each bundle is tied with six or seven pieces. As I walked down the road with a bundle in my each hand, I suddenly felt sad with tears: It seemed that what I was carrying in my hands was not grass, but families and individuals, whose fate seemed to be in my hands, and I could clearly feel the fragility of their lives; And they can't decide where to go, so helpless, as if each of us were drifting on a breeze through this world. And every grass with its tenacious way, in the effort to live, like every living person.

我忽然意识到，艺术家的用意，为何不采用更便捷、更靓丽的假草。因为只有真的草，才能让我们感受到生命，让我们感受到真实，让我们感受到命运。

I suddenly realized, the artist's intention, why not use more convenient, more beautiful fake grass. Because only real grass, can let us feel life, let us feel real, let us feel destiny.
